My entry into photography was at age 14 when I borrowed my father's Voigtlander Vito B range finder camera. I participated in a photography class in high school and used a Russian Zenit-B and a Minolta SRT101 for my projects. I later progressed to a Hasselblad and medium format film photography, mostly in the landscape and nature themes. In the summer of 1970, I embarked (somewhat unannounced and to the dismay of my parents) on a solo photo safari in the Florida Everglades, focusing entirely on nature and landscapes. I shot film until digital cameras became more affordable. I used Canon digital cameras for many years. In 2009, a friend invited me to Bangkok, Thailand for a mentoring workshop on model photography, which pretty much changed the direction and landscape of my photographic endeavors forever. In 2011, I switched to Sony digital cameras and in 2012, I added a few film cameras to my gear collection, in medium and large formats. I'm shooting model and portrait photography with a focus on medium format digital (Pentax 645z), Fuji X-trans sensor based cameras (Fuji X-E3) and film (4x5 view cameras, Chamonix 45n-2 and Cambo Legend).

I strive to capture an emotional content, or as my mentor would say, a "Landscape of emotion…". My photography motto phrases are... "Landscape of emotion…"... and "Express not impress…"...

Many returns in recent memory, my SmugMug is back up and growing. I opened up the site on the 22nd of May and just 10 days later, I over 106,000 hits. So, I must have a lot of folks out there that remember my site. A site I had to close in November 2017, due to legal issues.

Next, my Hasselblad has returned from the repair shop, I had an original estimate of $195 for a clean, lube and adjust. Turns out the last CLA was done using cosmoline as a lubricant, and over the years it hardened, causing some mechanical issues. The camera tech had to clean out all of the hardened goop and re-lubricate, on the bright side, no traces of rust anywhere. Unfortunately, the repair ended up with a repair bill of $446. This camera/magazine was made in 1979 and duplicates my 500C/M from 1971.
